Level: EASY Supplies: Snow, Paint or Food Coloring

We ordered a snow science experiments printable on the Teachers Pay Teachers website (https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Snow-Science-Experiments-STEM-Activity-Winter-Science-2314882)

We have loved using it and I love the short term commitment to it. The ability to move on to a new science unit if our excitement for learning spans to a new area is something I value at this stage.

This activity was not in her kit but grew out of an inspired idea by my daughter during one of the experiments. We started out by bringing in a large bowl of snow, and dividing it onto baking pans.

The kids built their own sculptures and then my daughter asked for markers to draw on them. Our crayola markers were not able to do the job, so we tried watered down paint and food coloring. Both worked wonderfully.

The best part of this activity is that we placed them out on the back deck to enjoy for as long as the weather lasts.

Cheers to easy, fun, and time killing learning!
